I’ve been reading up on reflection and mirrors, and in my research I came across this sentence:

“In that sense, the cat’s behavior [in not walking through a puddle] was comparable to that of a human infant who will consistently refuse to crawl across the edge of a trompe l’oeil ‘cliff’ painted on the nursery floor.”

What kind of sick weirdo paints a fake cliff on a nursery floor to freak out a baby?

  1. Well, it’d be sort of cool…

But no, I wouldn’t, probably because I’d not have the energy. I would, however, draw a line on the ground and stick a chicken’s beak to it to see if it really thought it was tied there.
